  3.  Eskom's Generation Environmental Management is looking for a recent graduate in air quality-related studies to employ for a 3-month period, commencing no later than 1 July 2010.

    The position is based at Megawatt Park in Sunninghill Park. Responsibilities will include assurance reporting, tracking of action plans, compilation of emission management plans, and input into procedures and strategies, among others. It is a good opportunity to learn about air-quality related issues that a large industry like Eskom has to deal with.

  4.  A vacancy exists for an Air Quality Specialist to commence duties in the Johannesburg office of SSI Engineers and Environmental Consultants (Pty) Ltd. Main responsibilities include: Conduct Air Quality Impact Assessments, Management Planning and Baseline assessments for both the public and private sectors; Liase with clients; Responsible for compiling project proposals and environmental reports; Must provide ongoing support to the Unit Manager.

    Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience: Environmental Engineering/management degree/relevant tertiary qualification; Minimum of 2-3 years related experience; MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint - intermediate level is essential; Experience in process engineering or the estimation and monitoring of emissions from various source types would be beneficial; experience in the operation of air quality dispersion models would be advantageous; Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
